Chalo Zurita - Portfolio

Multidisciplinary artist, based in Quito-Ecuador. His interests lie as much in speculative
realism as well as in politics of memory. His work questions
the relationship between the perception of being, the world,
history, society, memory, and future possibilities, thus, the
different divergences between or among these entities.
He has performed in several collective exhibitions, such as the binational project
Dear God (2014) at Casa de Artes, Habitual, a collective exhibition in Q Gallery, Self-Portrait at Koganecho Gallery A in Yokohama, Alta Hechicería at La Minga Gallery.
His exhibitions include 6 Meses, Kuroi Iro, Bulla, and Of Rain as Mythology.
He has curated the exhibitions Ekuadorian Mix, Inversiones, Corpus, Háptica, Sueños Sintéticos, and Run Economy.
Director of the project space Camareta Espacio Experimental.
His work has been presented in spaces in Ecuador and Japan.
He participated in the research and artistic creation residency at No Lugar Contemporary Arts and the Koganecho Artists Residency.
